Its not faulty unless you bought a second hand one, then it could be.
There should be a yellow wire at the back of the unit that needs to be connected to a power supply in the glovebox for constant power to keep the settings. I think that should fix some problems.
As for the quiet Nav, the Nav uses the windows operating system, which is different to the radio. You need to get into the operating system volume setting (in the Nav start up screen) and turn it all the way up.
then go back to the radio equaliser settings and turn them both down as far as they can go. Then when you start the radio you can turn the volume up to about 5 rather than have it at 2 normally. Then by turning the volume up higher, the Nav directions are louder as well.

If you look at the main Dynavin thread on this site, (by doing a search on dynavin in all threads) in one of the first topics there is a link to a lot of issues. You need to spend time having a look through most of the forums and you will get a good understanding, however follow this link and it is fitting instructions.
http://www.caraudiocraze.com/E90-Install-Guide1.0.pdf

Also, subscribe to the dynavin forum, where there is a whole swag of information.
http://dynavin.freeforums.org/index.php

Also check out the E46 forum as they have a lot of information there
http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=771282.

Did you get an instruction manual with the unit as well, if not I will try to attach it here.... or go to the download link and download the manual.

Hope this helps..........

Dynavin unit on crack!

Hey guys... hoping you could help me with this. I just installed the Dynavin e9x into my car and now when I turn it on, it immediately cycles through every source. I can't get it to stop and thus, I can't use the unit properly.

Anybody know what the source of the problem would be?

Video of problem can be seen here:

Thanks!

Hmm...I'm no expert in this field, but do you have steering wheel controls hooked up? Because if you do, maybe it was done incorrectly, and the HU thinks you're just constantly pushing the button??

I thought this may be a possibility so when I woke up this morning I took the stock head unit and plugged it into the original CANBUS interface -- functions properly, and the steering wheel columns (up/down, volume up/volume down, AC cycling) all worked properly.

Leading me to believe this unit is faulty.

I purchased it from CarAudioCraze.com...hey forwarded my issues to Dyanvin directly and he will be getting back to me shortly. He suspects its a faulty CANBUS adapter, not the head unit itself.
