Service lights..wtf

This past weekend a belt on my tire started to come off...it put a flat spot in the tire...I brought it to the tire place, got a new tire...the low pressure light went off...but since it was at the tire shop I now have the red "BRAKE" light on at all times and also the pic of the car on the lift light...WTF, brakes are fine, oil is fresh, etc...how do I clear these lights? Is it a silly trick with the control settings or do I need an obd2 scanner?
Thanks...

Red brake light would most likely be the e-brake. Proabably a sensor that is out of place or malfunctioning somewhere.

What do you mean by "you had a belt on your tire?"

Hmm...any idea on where this sensor is located ?

A belt or a tread was actually coming off the tire and created a flat spot..I was on the way to a wedding and it felt like a flat..looked at it, and all tires had air, after the service, all tires still had air but was driving like it had a flat so I imspected further and found a serious flat spot in the tire...took it to a well known local place in-between church and the reception...they put a new used same size, same tread life as the rest of the tires, tire on and had me on my way in about 10 min, but then the lights started ...

And also how bout the car on lift light? Isn't that a service reminder light? I think I never reset at one point when changing oil and the computer thinks it is due but it's really not...?
I'm ready to trade in or sell asap and upgrade to a newer 3 series with nav, idrive, new color combo etc...but want to get these lights straightened out b4 I do cus obviously it just looks bad...

Was the tire that was replaced either the front driver or rear passenger? I'm wondering if the tire tech clipped the brake pad wear sensor.

You'd have to be really dumb to do that.

It's probably a coincidence. Check the symbols in your manual.

I think you just need brake service....

same here

Having exact same lights on my car (2006 330i) Ive reset all the service indicators. I wonder if hitting a large bump the other night knocked a brake wear sensor loose. Any guesses guys? Really annoying.

IF any of you are from near West Chester you know the current condition of 202 and can understand my car loves the road...Hurry up PENNDOT!

Have not pulled one out on the E90, but on other BMW's I've owned, they are easy "bump" into. I've almost knocked them loose washing the inside of my wheels with a wire brush on my other 3'ers before. Some are only held on by a very small clip.

If he had no break light before the tire change, but has a light now, you have to wonder about the simple things first.

Maybe it's brake fluid? Though if you reset all the service indicators, that should have been one of them.

After reading many forums it seems it is because the brakes were serviced recently. All brand new pads and rotors. But it must be that the sensors were not replaced. I did find the back right sensor dangling, but no damage to the wires. Can this be cleared with coding? or do I have to buy a new sensor? Thanks guys.

New sensors. I'm debating whether I should buy new sensors next time I replace my brakes, or just leave the old sensors dangling if they haven't activated the service light yet. Any opinions?

Yep, that would be my guess as well.

Thanks guys, I'll try to reset everything again and if not I'm assuming it's the sensor...
