Help me build my E92 (BMW Newb)

Hi,

I am an LS1 junkie looking to make a move. I am not sure what comes standard on an 07-08 335i Coupe. But i know what I want. Please see my list and tell me what packages I need to look for when used car shopping. Thank you!

In order of preference:

Sport Package
Memory seats
Comfort Access
Sunroof
Bluetooth
Adaptive Headlights
Power folding mirrors (premium package?)
Auto dim exterior and interior mirrors
Rear Sunshade

So sport package will be easy since a lot of coupes have it.

You want the premium package because it should take care of power memory seats and auto dim for sure. Folding mirrors may have been a standalone option back then, but it was likely part of premium also.

If you mean side to side swiveling headlights, I believe they all have that. Rear sunshade will be tough to find since I think the convenience package that it is a part of now along with comfort access may not have existed back then.

Bluetooth should be part of iDrive if you opt for that.

sunroof is easy...probably 49 of 50 coupes have a sunroof (or I should say moonroof since its glass).

Sounds like you want a pretty loaded up car.

if money is no object to you, all of those options are nice. to me, rear sunshades are a bit of overdoing it.

Sunshade is really rare, I've never seen one. And as far as I know, it gets stuck really easy.

Just shopped this a bit ago. depending on your price range your really better off getting an 08, less problems with the HPFP, and more was standard, oil cooler, logic 7, I think were both standard. Sports package will be easy to find and a necessity IMO. bluetooth is included in premium package I'm pretty sure, and comfit access is its own package. My mirrors power fold and I have Premium, Sport, iDrive, Comfort Access, so it must be included in one of those. lol. As for the rear window screen I believe it is a stand alone, and yes many people report problems. The only other package i believe is Cold Weather which gets you head light washers, and heated seats. They also have active cruise control vs. adaptive cruise control or something like that.

In order of preference:

Sport Package- Most coupes have it, you can tell by the seats. If they have the extendable bottom cushion it has sport
Memory seats- Included with premium package
Comfort Access-standalone option hard to tell if it has it from pictures but you can tell by three little ridges on top of the door handle
Sunroof- Every 3-series back them came standard with this
Bluetooth- included in premium package or as stand alone option
Adaptive Headlights- Standard on coupes
Power folding mirrors (premium package?)- yes, premium package
Auto dim exterior and interior mirrors- premium package
Rear Sunshade
- standalone option, you can tell if it has it by the buttons under the radio controls.

Premium and Sport take car of all that except rear sunshade and adaptive headlight. You get adaptive headlight only if the car has xenon's. Turn on the headlights before you buy the car and make sure they are white, or have projectors. Rear sunshade is over-kill, maybe you will get lucky. Sunroof, well everyone has one if they are fully loading it, like you wan't without Idrive. I have an 06, so I know.

All US-spec E92s have xenon lights, and therefore have the adaptive lights.

Premium will give you the power folding and auto dimming mirrors, along with some other interior niceties like power memory seats. You can get bluetooth without iDrive, so keep that in mind if you don't care about the iDrive screen. Comfort Access was a standalone option, so that will be more difficult to find but still somewhat common. Rear sunshade is also a standalone option and only ordered on cars at a customer's request, so that will be very difficult to find. Conversely, all E92s have sunroof unless specifically deleted by a customer ordering the car.
