Red face All new 2013 bmw 328i

Most likely, F30 sedan wii get N20 inline 4 cylinder engine as standard.
If so, will new 328i could be little cheaper due to 4 cylinder rather than
3.0L inline 6.
I hope BMW doesn.t raise MSRP on new 2013 328i sedan.
If they keep price as close to current model, or maybe little for inflation,
then i would definitely get one. no doubt.

They just increased the 528i (with a 4-cyl. turbo) and 535i by 2000$.

If the base 2011 328i is $33150 MSRP currently, I'd expect the new 2013 one with new standard features and technology to be close to $35000 MSRP.

Obviously an inline four turbo is worth more than that boring na 328 they currently offer. More balls and more tuning options. Expect another 1-2k. On bright Side the tuning options will bring 328 closer to 335 and 328 owners can therefore drop the whole inferiority complex thingy! I predict highly tuned 328s will come close to stock 335s

I drove it. The N20 sounds like a Civic and NVH to match. The "na" sounds like a sophisticated car, as it should.

Must have felt like an f1 compared to what you're accustomed to...

Not really. It didn't pull as the torque chart suggests. By the time the turbo spools up, you are past 3000rpm anyway... Lag is important.

Based on the Volkswagen/Audi tuning world of 1.8 and 2.0 turbo engines, "highly tuned" base engines should fairly trounce a stock N55. That said, methinks that moving the base engine upward in power and torque will allow BMW to perhaps bump the N55 up a notch as well.
