How to replace seat belt buckles
I have 4 year old twins and of course needs a pair of child seats. Since the rear seats are tight, it's always a struggle to lock the buckles because it's angled-in instead of just straight. My kids usually fasten their seat belts on their own with my other & previous cars. But they won't do it in the BMW because they're having a hard time. I always have to do it for them & needs to push the car seat aside. I mean, it's really a burden everytime we get in the car.
Does anyone here have the same problem or replaced the buckles? Is there a way I can replace the buckles to just straight metals. |

That said, you can't readily replace the seat belt tongues. |

Agreed. Even if they can do it you still need to put just as much effort into checking that the car seat is properly locked down. Don't forget the tethers, right?
Moreover, the child seats generally are designed to prevent children from buckling and unbuckling. Let alone the proper connection of the child seat itself to the car. Proper connection of the car seat to the car when using the seat belt requires full withdrawal and subsequent retraction of the belt to put it into child safety mode. This mode prevents the seat belt from extending after the seat is installed. How can a four year old do that? I have serious questions about the proper installation of your car seat. Please don't dismiss my concerns. There is something about your post that doesn't "click" with me. Sorry for the confusion guys, english is not my mother tongue & I'm just trying to explain it as clearly as possible.
Sorry, I should have said that their car seat is a booster with back rest not the infant type which I have in my Van. My twins can really fasten their seat belts and that's pretty easy for them to do in my previous Acura TSX because the back seat is wider compare to the e90. They can unbuckle easily but not buckling...they really hate it & will cry until I do it for both of them. I hope I explained it clear enough |
