AR down pipe install causing odd sounds!!!
A couple weeks ago i installed my AR down-pipes. not knowing what a PITA it was, I began to crack at it. Before i knew it my Passenger axle was out, my sub frame was lowered and had a big big mess in front of me. the install took about six good hours. after installing the down-pipes i began to reassemble my car, everything went smooth and no left over parts bolts or nuts . Now I pull out of the shop and testing out my new install. love them. But i began to hear a Sound i can best describe as wheel rubbing against my inner fender liner. I also noticed it only happens while accelerating and turning left. even the smallest jerk of the wheel to the left replicates the sound. keep in mind its only when im giving the car gas. as soon as i let off the gas its quite as can be no noise what so ever/ i lifted the car up inspected everything no rubbing everything seems to be tight. all looks normal... is there any body that can shed some light on my problem Please????

I never touched the axle on my install, just lowered the subframe and removed the pass motormount. I don't have this issue. Perhaps something related to the axle?

i just kind of started where i thought it would be easiest and i was clearly wrong. for future info i will not be removing the axle. i figured that could be the problem. but ive heard a bad axle before and do sent sound like this, sounds more like a plastic rubbing vs a metal grinding.I removed the axle and re installed it. every thing seemed fine with the axle.
im stumpped. even a shop couldnt tell me.. |

check the steering rack heat shield. It can bend and get in the way when turning to one side. Also if you pulled the rack down too far it can be an extensive problem.

Why and how would this happen while turning on acceleration only, example .. I'm driving down a country road at 50 miles I slightly turn the wheel to the left. Its gets loud again. And how can they be aligned wrong?

On my old 350Z I had the same issue. It was the steering column, one of the couplers, that was touching one of the downpipes upon turning.....couldnt that be the case here?
