Heat always coming from vents?
On a 95 degree day in Atlanta with the top down, I noticed heat pumping out of the air vents of my 2011 328i convertible, even with the blower completely off. I tried turning on the climate system and cranking down the temp all the way (60 degrees) and then turning everything back off, but still noticed a fairly considerable amount of heat coming from the vents.
This is kind of annoying. Common experience, or unusual? Any ideas for how to stop heat from coming from the air vents, short of actually turning on the A/C (which is completely ineffective with the top down on hot days, and creates a noticeable drag on engine power)? |

I've noticed my car do the same thing.

Do you have your temp setting switched to cold (blue)?

Yep, that little horizontal thumbwheel between the center air vents is pushed all the way to the cold side.
I did reduce the heat coming from the vents somewhat, by ensuring all 4 were closed and by turning on the climate system, selecting just the topmost air distribution button (directing air to the windshield), and then turning it off. Still, I remain a bit puzzled. In other (non-BMW) cars, when I turn the climate system to cool and turn off the fan, no hot air escapes. |

My mum's Kia Cee'd does this!! Lol I suppose it is engine heat escaping. Hmm, not noticed it from the 330d before but its fans aren't often off! Can't get to the 'd until the 18th so will probably post sometime around then!
