Auto lock with key inside car

Question.
Today I set my e92 to auto lock if no door is opened for a short time. Will it automatically lock if the key is left just sitting inside the car (or in the ignition)? For example, if I place my key on the passenger seat and leave it there by mistake, then exit the car....will it still lock itself? I only have 1 key so I'm concerned, but I want this feature active. Thx

No, that function is when you lock it first then you unlock and no door opens then it locks. But if you don't lock it to begin with it wouldn't.

first, try locking your key in the car.... dont forget to try the trunk too!

the door won't as the key is detected still inside the car, but the trunk will

the trunk wont lock.... try it if you don't believe me

I'll try it. One thing I noticed is the car won't recall my seat position, even tho I set it to upon unlocking

i tried once,
only open the trunk to grab something, so doors are locked, and shut the trunk and left the key inside and i can't get it open and has to grab my spare to open it

only works with comfort access. otherwise the car has no way of knowing where the key is.

ok. I have CA so it didnt lock for me

i am gonna try once more cause i also have CA and last time it was locked.
