Weird vibration! What could it be?

Hi, just yesterday I noticed my 335 had this \"vibration\" at highway speeds. It was one to 3 vibrations and felt like a transmission problem but it doesn\'t coincide with shifting. A few days ago, I almost ran out of gas but made to the pump and filled up the usual premium gas. Could this be injector as I noticed reduce power when it vibrates? HPFP?

Vibration in the steering wheel at around 50 mph (within a small range)? =Unbalance in the front wheels. (Light) vibration of the complete car at around 85 mph (but over a wider speed range)? =Unbalance in either front or rear wheels. The wider your wheels, the higher the chance for unbalances. In extreme cases, an incorrect alignment of your wheels causes your tires to wear off unequally (feathering or one-side wear) which can lead to unequal weight distribution of the tire and thus an imbalance.

Good luck resolving the issue.

Could be an unbalanced drive shaft. Drive over anything that could have contacted your underbody/drive shaft?

Let me rephrase. I used the word vibration but at that time it was the best word I could come up with. The more I think about it it's not a vibration but more like a 1/2 second of loss in power, like bad gas, injector or fuel pump. I don't feel vibration coming from steering wheel, wheel, suspension. And it only lasts a half second.

Then it's more like a misfire then, right? Like for a split second the engine wasn't getting any fuel or the spark plugs weren't firing? Any warning lights on the dash when this happens???

Yes! But no warning lights. I do have JB+ but I'm not sure if that is causing it. Anyways I do have an appt with the dealership Thursday morning. I'm taking all my mods off. Wish I have a BT scanner

I took off my mods last night, CP, DCI, Jb+, in preparation for the dealership and I drove 20 miles to work this morning. So far none of the stuttering, misfiring, vibration that I felt before. Last night as I drove home and before the removal of mods, as I was turning I felt the worse stutter yet. It was so prounounced that I thought the transmission dropped from below. Yet, it was just a split second and power returned to normal as a sped off from the intersection. Weird huh? I wonder if the weather/outside makes it worse. As I usually notice it the issues more in the day/evening time. I'll see what happens when I drove home from work later. Thanks for yall's inputs

I too have a vibration at around 80-85 which can't be resolved, even after throwing $1000 into it. Can you please check something for me, Geesemonkey: I find the vibration is noticeably worse when the AC is on, than when it's off. What about you. Thanks.

This vibration or stutter for me is not related to speed. Nor is it related to AC on or off. It just feels like the engine is going to shut off or like the fuel line got clogged.

Vibration at speed whilst under power, comming through the accelerator peddal?

Could be described as a flutter?

Yes!

Update: I drove all day today with a total of 40 miles and all mods off. No flutter, no stutter, no vibration.

OMG. A vibration? What you need to do is give a not so detailed description of the problem to a public forum on the internet. Presto change-o. All your automotive problems shall be solved...

godspeed

Could also be your cv joints, or a bent axle.

Could be a ABS brake check. Cars do this automatically. Was it when you stepped on the brake?

Car is in the shop. No problems as of yet. Actually since I took off my tunes. They ran an ECU scan and no codes accept for a bad relay switch. Could this caused by thee JB+?
