Spilled oil??

I just changed the oil in the car, as I was putting some oil in it, I spilled some around the engine fill hole and it kind of seeped in between the fill hole, where would it go? Would it go under the engine cover basically into the plugs and wires?? Should I remove the engine cover just to check and clean it out just in case??

It will pretty much get burned off the engine as you put miles on it..if u spilled too much it will smoke..

i would open it up to be safe

It depends on how much you spilled. Taking the engine cover off is time consuming the first time you do it, and it is a bit complicated. You will be dealing with a lot of plastic parts and clips that are easily broken if you ham-fist it. If it is a small amount of oil, I'd leave it be and let it burn off. The smell will be gone in a few minutes of run time.

If you want to take the cover off, I suggest you look up my DIY for replacing the O2 Sensor. I provided a detailed description on how to remove the cover in that DIY.

My advice is, save the clean up for when you pull the cover to change the plugs.
