Rev3 USB Driver Installer Question

Hi Guys,

I have a Rev3 USB driver installation question. I am running Windows 7 Professional on my laptop. Per instruction I have not connected the laptop to the internet. Once I have, unzipped the Rev3 USB Driver Installer file, the only executable file I can find is "PreInstaller." When I double clicked on the file, I did not see a standard Windows Installer window, however, I did get a Program Compatibility Assistant window with a "this program might not have installed correctly" prompt. The prompt asks for a 'Reinstall using recommended settings' or 'This program installed properly.' Note the process took half a second to complete so I am not sure if anything was installed.

In device manager (with nonpresent drivers viewable) I tried looking up for traces of the driver install with no luck.

For those who have got the driver to work, please advise.

I'm surprised that it needs any drivers at all.

I installed it yesterday on Windows XP, same experience as far as no installer window.

All you need to do is go look in C:\Program Files\ and look for a folder named Silabs. If it's there and has stuff in it, you should be good to go.

Now try plugging in the cable from the procede when the car is on and see if it asks you for drivers or if you get a new serial port.
If it asks for drivers just point to the directory where you unzipped the drivers.

Hi guys,
I just added a READ ME file to the driver download folder. Just download it again and give it a read. It explains everything

Thanks for the reponse guys. To bad the process is not a quick install. Hmm do you guys think it matters if driver is from x64 or x86... or am I supposed to point towards one of the slabbus/slabser files?

Please read the read me file. You don't have to do any of that. It's very simple.
