New guy, pricing and questions
Going from a FX35 to this car. Just want to get away from the maintenance fees and a big car (big gas prices). Getting:
2006 330i manual Jet Black Comfort Access Fold Down rear seat iDrive and Nav Sat prep MSRP $41,945 Offering it for $40,410 Sounds fair but another opinion is always welcome. Now the questions... 1) Are there any 6'5" guys out there that drive this car and do you fit comfortably day to day 2) Dealer tells me the factory has been out of Aluminum trim since early September and that orders will be pending until they get more. Anyone hear of this? |

There is a current thread on the aluminum thing. Doubt it's a shortage, if anything they are having second thoughts about the long term reliability and/or quality (discoloring, dents, scratches, etc.). Get wood.
P.S. Welcome!

My car entered production on 10/10 and is scheduled to be completed on 10/18 (according to the 800 number). I have aluminum trim and live in the US.

If you are not already committed to the 330i as described in your post, I highly recommend that you go for the sport package. The car you described is a bit unusual, in that, it has a manual transmission but no sport package. This may be why this particular car remains in dealer stock.
After several months of driving my 330i, I am convinced that the sport package is the most important option that you should consider. Unless, of course, you do not like the bolstered seats, the 18" wheels/tires and the firmer suspension. With whatever E90 you end up purchasing, you will be getting an extraordinary machine. Good luck with your choice. |
