OBDII tuning on 07 335i sedan

Hey guys,

I just picked up a 07 335i yesterday with only 18k miles and was wondering if there are any good OBDII tuning devices out there to flash in a little more aggressive tune into it and to up the boost to around 13 psi on 93 octane? I noticed that Cobb has one, but it only states that its for the 08-10 models.

Also, the car has the 6 speed auto steptronic and will it handle a modest upgrade to power ok without hurting anything? Does this auto use a torque converter or is it clutch packs?

If I up the boost to 13 psi and a more aggressive tune, do I need to modify anything first to get to around 350 whp? Is the stock intercooler and everything ok to get to this power?

Thanks for the help guys.

Cobb is is what your looking for. You will run 13 psi on stage 1 (which you can run all stock)

FMIC + Down Pipes will get you to 350+ pretty easy, you have to wait for Cobb Stage 2 though.

The stage 1 91 octane map can be run to lower the boost if there is a worry.

Cheers,

Hi Spoolin1,

Can I ask where you found we only support '08+? I'd love to get that changed.

Cheers,
Rob

Good to know...

No worries here ... I like 15psi of boost

Rob, are the stage1 maps pretty much optimized for power on a stock car? Or when ATR/ATP is released can more power be safely extracted on a stock car?

There is probably a bit more power by adding some timing above 5000 RPM, along with holding boost out a little longer between 4000-5700 RPM. We were conservative when it came to the timing having access to the data provided by all six of the cylinders. The reason to be conservative with timing is, timing is what will kill a motor.

Cheers,
Rob

Hey Rob,

It was on your thread here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=472813 .

I didnt read far enough and only saw the part where it was for the 08-10, but after rereading through your first post, I ended up noticing that the 07 was now supported.
