MT Car wont go in reverse? NEED HELP

Hey guys,

i just came back from running some errands around town, no hard driving at all, pulled into my driveway reversed fine etc..my brother was outside and asks " whats wrong with your car i heard like a scrape " .. i had no idea what he was talking about, so i pulled the car foward, and tried to put it in reverse and it just wont go though matter how much i force it. i drove it around the block, it rows through all gears perfectly, no wierd sounds, nothing looks wierd under/above the car, but it just will not go in reverse.

i tried to search but the search isnt working for me right now .. anyone have any ideas?

Does it work if you go neutral > 1st > reverse? Most manual trannys do this from time to time.

Its not your fault, it's those crazy Germans and their intuitiveness I'm not sure why reverse is the same direction as 1st gear. It should be pointed backwards.

It can easily happen when you drive a car with another gear-pattern from time to time. Almost everytime when I drive the wifes Volvo S60 T5 I have forgotten the rear is at a different location and say - You have moved the reverse again !! I is usually possible to sort it out without help from forums though
