Problems with CMGS 1.07 and JB4

Just wanted some help with this since I couldnt find what I wanted using search. Any comments would be appreciated fellas....

I installed the CMGS kit, version 1.07 and integrated into the JB4 using the orange 22 gauge wire to pin 15 on the JB4. The kit is flowing meth and was configured using CMGS' video, and the JB4 meth setup link on N54.....BUT I have no increase in boost, cant get over 14 psi on map 3.

The output on the CMGS to JB4 is set to 1, so is that right? I read use 0 or 1, so I dont know which is right. Just primed the pump, and used washer fluid just so I could monitor flow - and it is flowing, and the CMGS monitor also shows full flow so my problem seems to be the communication with the JB4. I used a 15 gauge wire that came with the CMGS kit to pin 15 on the JB4, could that be the problem? My IAT temps are about 90' on meth. Ran a couple of WOT maps and didnt show any meth flow (stayed at 0) on the logs. I also have meth additive on the meth tab at 40, and meth flow max also at 40.

I checked the flow sensor, and it spins fine, but the check valve filter just before it seems clogged, since I cannot blow through it. How do you clean the filter of debris? I dont know how to remove the filter from the check valve- see the attached pic.

Sorry for all the questions, but I am a noob to meth. Thanks!

Uploaded a logging map for reference. Prior to logging, re-primed the kit and reset parameter 12 to 0...did 3 or 4 WOT's on the highway at about 80mph, sunny, 95 degrees and high humidity, on map 3 using a CM7 nozzle.

The attached is not a flow sensor it is the check valve. From the picture it appears clean. Either a setting in the JB4 is not correct or the wiring is not correct.

I dunno, maybe the JB4 needs a lower gauge wire to pin 15? The setup is per Terry's instructions on N54. I will check the CMGS wiring again.

Wiring is fine on the CMGS, just triple checked.

CMGS 1.07 had a bug with one of its output signal that CMGS 1.08 fixed. You may need to get it reflashed by CM. Just email them for additional details.

Thanks. Makes sense as it doesn't seem the wiring to the JB4 would at least send some sort of signal. And the method is steadily going down as I use my car so I know it is flowing.

yeah, your not getting a signal from cmgs to jb4. Some of the new jb4 chips needed a resistor between the board and the gauge. Send in Cmgs for up date anyway. Their new update allows cmgs to display errors in letters instead on # codes. Also we there are vac readings now.

Does anyone have a pic of what the resistor should look like on the board? I already ordered the update.

Got the update but looking at the cmgs website it tells me to set parameter 12 at zero while BMS says to use 1. I am using 1, is this correct?

From BMS' site:

Quote:
If using the CMGS/VC2 controller v1.07 or 1.08 with flow sensor:

Connect the CMGS/VC2 orange wire to pin #15 on the JB4 DB25 connector.

Set your CMGS/VC2 parameter #12 (5V output mode - orange wire) to 0. Enabling it to output .1v per 100ml/min of flow. If you are using an alternative flow sensor consult with your flow sensor vendor for the appropriate settings. If you are using a previous version of the CMGS/VC2 you will need to upgrade it to 1.07 or higher to take full
advantage of this feature. Firmware v1.07 has been designed specifically for progressive methanol mapping and that feature was not included in their 1.06 and previous firmware. CM offers a mail in firmware update program. Email info@coolingmist.com for details.

Using map 1 do a series of WOT pulls with your meth enabled and observe the meth parameter in the logging software to ensure proper movement. With X scaling set to 100 note the highest percentage observed.

If using 91 octane set Meth Additive PSI (or Meth Boost Additive) to 20. If on 93 octane set to 30. This will increase boost 2 and 3 PSI respectively when under full meth flow. When the system is operating normally expect to see a meth flow reading of 30-50% in dash and in JB4 logs.

Fill in the "Meth Flow Max" with something slightly lower than your maximum methanol flow. For example if you are seeing 40-45 you may want to select 40 here. This represents the point at which the JB4 will assume you are at your maximum flow and deliver the full meth additive boost increase.

Keep in mind progressive methanol mapping is only active when map 3 is selected. Once configured monitor timing advance and the meth signal in a log to ensure no drop outs and smooth operation.

Thanks Mike. Version 1.08 worked like a charm.....boosted to 17.2PSI and got my first limp mode, lol! Never got one with just the JB4 and full bolt ons. I was able to reset right away, will check the codes tomorrow. Thanks for all the help.
