Ar downpipes

Hi everyone, i have 08 E90 335i and i want to get downpipes. So after compering all downpipes i decided that i will go with Ar downpipes. So my question now is should i go with catted ones or catless downpipes. I live in New Jersey and i want to pass my Inspection with downpipes because i don't want to remove them for every inspection. Also if i go with catted ones does that mean there is going to be no Check engine light. Thanks

With the ar catted dp's, you will not have a check engine light at first but after some time you will.

In jersey, they only do OBD II check now, so as long as you have no CEL and readiness code is good you will pass.

Problem is I dont know which if any tunes can allow for readiness code but most will eliminate the CEL for catless DP.

As others mentioned there is no reason to go with catted its a waste of install time and money IMO albeit some mild performance.

What other mods do you have? you might find better value in other mods like FMIC?

Let me know if you have any other questions on parts. I'm in your area.

Thanks, OP...I was wondering the exact same question. So how much of a difference, Jeff, between catted and catless? I heard that if you have the Procede and you get catless downpipes you should move the o2 sensor past the auxiliary cat, and this will eliminate a CEL if you have to drive around for a while without your tune in?

Also how much of a gain do you get from a FMIC? And where in NJ are you?

if you have procede just redo the harness update about a week before inspection... make sure you drive the car maybe 50 miles and you'll be ready for inspection. Redoing the harness adds the O2 sims. If you still have codes then you need to adjust the O2 modifier in the user menu.

Hey Josh, are you referring to the fact that there are the two red wires in the yellow portion of the harness? Sorry, I'm new to these piggybacks.

search harness update. Depending when you purchased the procede it either has it already or not... contact Vishnu and ask them. or just refer to the harness update thread. I don't remember the details.

Got catless! Pick up the DP from Top Gear Solutions and when it comes to inspection you can always find a mom and pop show and slip them a few extra for a pass
