Tested an m3 today
I really enjoyed it. This is the second time I\'ve test driven an e90 m3. The first time was just before I bought my 335.
I must say the 335 low end torque is not easy to forget. The m3 just doesn\'t have the getup in the lower range. The car needs to be driven harder. I decided to keep my 335 for a while longer. Absolutely loved the m3, but just not worth doing the upgrade for me at this time. Cheers |

The toughest thing for me to give up when going to the m3 is my AWD. It's such a great winter car! I put snows on all 4s and it's sooooo much fun.
The m3 with snows may do the trick but it would pale in comparison. I may just have to move south before I get back into an m3 |

M3 is a perfect 'second' car...

m3's are slow unless you really drive it hard like at a track. i like the all around available torque of the 335 around town. i'm surprised that so many people "upgrade" to the m3. for another 20k just buy a second car like a corvette if you want something sporty. i haven't driven one though so maybe there is something magical that happens that i'm not aware of

Like wise I have tested an E90 6MT M3 and loved it but can't get past giving up the AWD performance in winter. I know people drive M3's in winter on winter performance tyres but a 335xi on winter performance tyres....
To fully realise M3 performance you have to drive it right. I was supprised how light the factory flywheel was. |
