That's a great run, Steptronic transmission shouldn't be frowned upon anymore, they run consistently faster than 6sp drivers...

good job

good job
Probably because of that stupid CDV and that a lot of MT drivers don't know how to drive(missing shifts, etc).

I dont miss shifts....of course I live in Germany, so I'm used to driving like a madman everyday.

Great run, but ATCO is pretty much known for being one of the FASTEST tracks in the country.
If you look at dragtimes, often the fastest "stock" or lightly modded car times for many cars is at ATCO.
Search by track, click on ATCO then look at the times for cars claiming stock, then compare to the other times for that same car on different tracks.

Englishtown is also a fast track.
They both have DA's that are equivalent to being BELOW sea level.

Nice times tho, but these times for our cars will be "normal" at ATCO.

Thanks, I looked at it again and could see it better. I was on my laptop and couldn't see it very well the first time looking. Getting old...
Funny thing is, that trap speed is a bit slow for ATCO.

As I said in another post, I don't think 110+ is possible for a PROceded only auto 335i unless it's "at a fast track like ATCO on a good day with a good driver."

Correct... ATCO is known for being the fastest track in the country...

But either way great times... i want to go to that track soooo bad!!!!! I am jealous!!!

And also for those who said Auto's shouldnt be frowned upon because they are more consistant than 6speed..... Its not that hard to just floor it when the light turns green... 6speed requires a bit more skill when launching the car, shifting, and racing for that matter.... but yes you will get more consistant times with Auto's, but more likely to get faster times with 6 speed (once tractions not an issue)

this doesnt mean im dogging Auto's because you guys are putting up some great numbers so far!!!

I just got the CDV replacment...it is a must on this damn car!

COngrats on the numbers! good shit!

True ALL that Charlie.
For shear posting up fast times and, I am jealous of those guys who can go to ATCO too
But the reality is, their cars are NO faster and the drivers are NO better.
The fact that guy weighed 245 pounds and said he didn't launch the car hard but still got a 12.7 @ 109 is just a true testament of how FAST a track ATCO is. I've never been there, and locals tell me it doesn't, but I swear ATCO must run downhill, cause if you can't get a fast time at ATCO, you stink!
At a "normal" track that even has a DA at sea level, not below, he probably would of pulled a 13.1-13.2 @ 106 ish with the exact same car and driver doing everything the same.

I do at times miss driving my manuals.
This 335i is the first car of mine that I bought with an auto.
There is no doubt that launching this auto takes a lot less driver skill.
But it's still fun.

The one thing that could be a problem with auto's is it wont shift till redline. This unfortunately is about 1k rpm over where you optimally want to shift for best times. This, I think, is where manual drivers will be able to take the races when we finally get off our asses and produce some good consistant times.

I also ordered a CDV and plan to get to e-town in a few weeks once my car is broken in.
