I've lost that lovin' feelin'

Have had the e92 335 for a little over 2 months now.

Put 4000 miles on it. But the car has been in for the fuel pump problem for more than a week. I got it back 2 days ago and the Engine Fault Light has come on again. I will be taking the car back in tomorrow.

I drive with a feeling of dread, expecting shit to hit the fan any moment.

I have spent over $60K on a car and the damn thing has spent a quarter of its life in the shop.

I just hope to get it fixed.

Fer gad's sake, my previous car ('04 Chrysler Sebring) didn't once have anything go wrong with it in 70K miles.

Hang in there... it does suck, but hopefully they'll get this fuel pump issue resolved soon. I hope you're getting a nice loaner at least.

well since you're in Dubai, just go outside and pump some more oil, then buy another car.

Seriously that sucks, for 60k I would get something else other than a 3er, but I paid that much I would expect it to be perfect

it's all relative, I'm sure that's the norm market price for a 3er there, if you want buy something better than a 3er over there, you'd have to pay more than 60k

Actually, the problem is that there is only one dealer for each brand here. So for certain models they charge a huge premium. For example the Jag XK is selling for $100K here (for the coupe).

And there is no lemon law here (no consumer rights in the middle east).

I am heading out to the dealer in a few minutes. Lets wait and see

That's not that bad for the Jaguar XK... It is 70~80k in the states!

Well, this only happens on certain models. For example the 5 series is priced the same as the U.S and so is the 3 series (excluding the e92 and e90 335).

Most cars are priced as per the U.S levels. If there is a high demand for a car they screw you. Cos there is only one dealer you can't even shop around.

Well, the car is in the service center. But no loaner till the evening.

I really love my e92. I have never smiled so much while driving and have never enjoyed a car this much. This is really the perfect car for me - sporty, yet practical. Subtle but a beast waiting to be unleashed.

BUT, if this continues I will seriously have to think of getting rid of it. I just can't afford to have this continue. It inconveniences me too much and my job is too dependant on me being mobile.

haha I was just imagining a customer over there uses a site like edmunds to get quotes from the dealer. Hilarious.

You have no idea how bad it is, dude. The first batch of any new cars are generally bought by speculators/investors.

When the 335 came out over here in November - the first shipment was bought by some second hand car dealers who then went onto sell it at 10% more than the list price. AND people actually bought them instead of waiting.
