E46 is holding up nicely, I think

One of my neighbors has a beautiful red E46 330i. Every time I see him drive by I think "mmmm.... pretty". That car is still holding it's head up nicely!

Especially the 01+ models with the sport package, and the ZSPs. Personally, I think they look a lot "sportier" than the e90.

But I still like e30's so what the hell do I know?

I agree, for the longest time I considered buying an e46 330Ci.

I'll second or is that third the comments here. Funny how BMW's appreciate with age . when new models come out everyone craps on BMW for being too conservative, yet they stand the test of time. The model I appreciate besides the 330 e46 coupe is the new 5'ers everyone ( including automotive journalists intially hated the style) now they are coming around to see how now it stands out from the rest of the crowd and it is quite the crowd now. Everything is blending in. It also seems BMW gets it right with time as they tweak a model over its production span. I saw a picture of what looks to be the next generation Z4 subtile facelift and it looks amazing. Give the e9X's a few years and they will have a sportier more agressive look with some factory M kit or package you can count on it.

+1

E92 and E90 are fine vehicles but a nicely done e46 is still attractive.

E46 interior is nicer than the E90 IMO.

IMO, if they are parked side-by-side, the E46 does look a bit dated, but in every other situation they still are fine autos.

Dont know

We still have 3 E46 in the family, and all 3 have said they want to rather change to the E90 after driving and seeing it a bit.

Hopefually 2 of those will be in the next few months

One had a E90 320i rental for a few days on holiday, came back and immediately said they hate their E46 320i compared to the E90, eventhough the E46 has a 6 cylinder engine in the 320i.

I loved the E46 interiors... I never thought the two-climate zone A/C in our E9Xs is an upgrade at all... the knob feels cheap and it is annoying sometimes having to switch the temperature on both sides when it really doesn't make a difference..

I never said I prefer the E46, nor that I don't agree it is dated, just that I think it is still a fine looking automobile. I never owned one, but have had a couple as loaners... I MUCH prefer the E90 interior.

I just wish they would have left the Window controls in the center console. I liked that bit of weirdness, besides, look where they put the passengers switch...

When the E46 came out everyone complained they didnt move the switches to the door like on the E39.

When the E90 came out and they did change it, everyone complains that they did

The 5 hasn't grown on me. Neither has the 6. I actually prefer the 7, even before they toned down the "Bangle butt" but wouldn't say I love it. Neither the Z4 or X3 do anything for me. The X5 is (and has always been) a good looking SUV...if you like that sorta' thing. The one BMW I like now and have always liked is the 3 Series. When it comes to bread 'n' butter, you don't mess.

That's a great side by side comparison. I'm still a little partial to the e46. I think I feel the same way about it as I did when the new 5's came out. Took a little getting used to, but in the end, I converted.

I think the E46 looks old and outdated and the new E90 looks sharp and high tech. When I see an E46 drive down the street it doesnt really stand out to me, when I see another E90 they just scream out and look a lot more aggressive.

Some of my girl friends call my new E90 "the shark". And never really commented on my old E46 other than "it has big rims".
