I saw an E93 with out Idrive, and the console hole is more rounder(imagine just taking the idrive knob out) as compared to E92 which is more rectangular. Would new E92's also get modified console or this is just for E93?

Its actually a 6th (yes 6th) cup holder in the convertible.

I imagine the E92 will get the 3 additional cup holders in 2008 or at the latest @ its mid-life crisis. But probably in 2008.

I don't have the Idrive. I didn't like the look of it on the dashboard, in my opinion. Don't jump on me.... Anyway, all 6 of those cupholders have turned out useless!

What's with all these damn cup holders? How many drinks can you even consume at once?

IMO the cupholder is much more appeasing in shape compared to out of geometry trapezoidal void left due to not getting Idrive.
