E90 Comfort Acess Question

When I leaned on my drivers door handle to my surprise the mirrors started moving for curb parking? What is up with that, I see nothing in my owners manual to explain how this system works in detail? Any help would be greatly appreciated. New E90 post member as of Today 4-1-07.:rocks:

Welcome to the board.

I noticed my mirrors turned all the way down before I set their position into the memory.

I think I've seen posts where people have their mirrors fold in when they lock the car. Not that its useful all that often, but it sure does look cool to have your car do that. Anyone know if there is a way to set it to do that when you lock the car?

i dont think u can set it to automatically close when the car gets locked. if u have CA, then touching the ridges for a cpl of extra seconds wud close the mirrors... if u dont have CA then u can use the key in the FOB to close the mirrors

Ah, ok. I'll try that touching the button for a few extra seconds. It doesn't seem to explain this in the manual anywhere. How is one supposed to figure it out?

Hold the handle, windows and sunroof close, and mirrors fold in. HOWEVER: as many of us USA MY2007 owners (some EU owners said they still had it working) sadly found out, it appears that BMW decided to remove this mirror folding feature through CA and we're stuck just pressing the button manually before getting out of the car.

Why on earth...did someone in America sue them for a power-folding mirror related accident??

If you can think of it, a lawyer can sue for it.

I always fold my mirrors when I lock (06 model with CA). Not only does it look cool to have the mirrors unfold when you unlock, but if I look at my car from a distance, I know I remembered to lock it if the mirrors are folded.

Sounds like good logic. There were a few times in Germany that I forgot to lock mine since I was so used to having a fob in my hand to remind me. Maybe I should set it to automatically lock when I walk away.

I noticed I couldnt close my mirrors from the holding the door handle either. I like the idea of folding them before I get out of the car. Much less chance of someone bumping into them or scratching them. This car is wider than you think.

Well, I think someone mentioned this feature may have been deleted in MY2007.

Do you need to have the premium package to even have the option of having automatic folding mirrors??

What I was referring to was the ability to have them fold in while you hold the handle after locking. On MY2007 (USA) doing so only rolls the windows up and shuts the sunroof. Prior to MY2007 you could also get the mirrors to fold in by holding the handle.

No iDrive setting for this.

Uh-oh, does anyone know if this is a hardwired feature, or might it disappear with Progman 25 installed?
