Lightbulb BMW CCA Rebate

I know this has been addressed before...

My CA told me about the rebate I can get for my next BMW with BMW CCA membership. The question is, does this apply to a leased vehicle too? I will need a new lease in 2 years... thanks for your help!

I received my check on Friday after taking delivery on 2/1/07. They processed it quickly. You have to be a member for a year or longer and can only get one rebate per calendar year. We got one last year for our X3 also. Those two rebates more than paid for my life membership in the CCA!!!

All of the paperwork is on the CCA website.

Bling - BMWCCA is great. It's worth it just for the Roundel magazine, and yes you can get the rebate for a lease.

If you decide to join, you can list me as a sponsor (let me know and I'll give you the necessary information on my membership) - unless you don't like me anymore.

Make damned sure that at least one name on the lease and the name of the CCA membership match.

Bet not - 12-months continuous membership at time of purchase/lease.

I have become more expert on this than I wanted after a difficult time with a 550i rebate last year. Resolved satisfactorily, but was not easy, and the company (it's a BMW check, not BMWCCA) is really rigid on the rules.

I don't really understand how BMW benefits from this transaction. We pay what $35/ $45 membership fee for a year and in return get a $500 rebate check. I mean, I'm all for it but it just doesn't seem to add up.

It makes you buy a BMW later on which costs more than $500.

It has nothing to do with your member fees. They make way more than that on each car they sell. Plus, if they sell you another car all over again, youre more likely to convince others to buy a bmw. Also, one more car of theirs on the road to be seen. Its like free advertising.

Thanks Ledzep, but I need a sponsor to join? or what is the benefit of having one?

You don't need a sponsor to join, but when you sign up there's a referral section. So help a fellow member out and put them down as a referral (I think there's some rewards system about it but I haven't looked into it).

Your member fees go to BMWCCA; the reward check comes from BMW. BMWCCA and BMW have no financial or corporate relationship to the best of my knowledge. BMW just knows that CCA members are usually their most loyal customers, and they give them (us) a little nod every now and then.

I also said the same thing to myself and thought my CA was lying. But what you guys said is right, if it makes you buy/lease another BMW and creates brand loyalty, it is a very smart and effective martketing.

I bet they make money on CCA events too?

I've collected twice: $1000 for a 5 series and $500 for a 3 series.

When I bought my 04 330, the CA told me to join for the rebate. I didn't.
You can bet I regret it now. It'd pay for a windscreen or the ipod thingy.
What's the lifetime membership; too tired now to start looking.
Despite my preference for Rush, I'll put LedZ down for a sponsor.

You don't need a sponsor or referral member to join. I think if a member has a ton of referrals it benefits them in some way (I only have one, so I don't know).

Wasn't that I was or wasn't looking out for you... sorry if it came across the wrong way. I still highly recommend BMWCCA. The annual dues are well worth it for the Roundel magazine alone, and the rebate on future cars would be a nice bonus.

I love Rush! They are getting ready to tour you know. A Farewell To Kings is one of my all time favorite albums.

If you really want to use me as a referral member, just PM me and I'll give you my member info.

Yes, I know

Well, the rebate alone is worth it, that is really great. I'm in!
