Update on some stuff, for those who give a damn..
Alrights,
Dropped the car off this morning at fairfax, and they gave me a Chavy Cobalt ( ) and said there is a national back order on the Fuel Pumps...which is no surprise. Anyway, before i dropped off the car, i took some nice pics, but they are like 2200 x 17000 and 2.4MB each....i guess i need to resize then in PS CS..... good thing i have a mac....

I think another fuel pump went to shit, so i took the procede out before i went to the dealer this morning.
I "broke" a couple of clips that hold a big tube to the airfilter harness so some of them dont lock into place, but once you put them on they dont really go anywhere anyway. One of the clips is still fine though... So no worries.

Do you plan on putting the procede back in? Also, what do you think the dealership would do if the procede was left in the vehicle let's say for one of the scheduled maintenance visits (free oil change crap)???

Stephan mentioned Shell...so he's good with the gas. I think its just rotten luck. Hopefully BMW redesigns/beefs their oil pumps up.
Btw, car looks greats You should hook up with Shim one day for a zaino package...

If i were to go in for something like an oil change or a light out (which i also have....) then i wouldnt take it out. And even Shiv said that there would be no reason for them to go into the ECU compartment for a Fuel Pump replacement, but this being my second time, maybe they would be suspicious, or try to dig deep. I just wanted to play it safe.
Ive been using Shell V-power since ive moved here, and saturday i filled up at a BP station at which Scott said he knows the distributor and they use no ethanol at all in the gas....

Step- car looks good...keep it clean buddy. I just dropped $300+ at Griot's garage to replenish my stash of cleaning goodies...
I don't want to start a Zaino versus the world thread, but if you've never ordered a catalog or checked the website www.griotsgarage.com ; you should. Their stuff is great, safe on high priced priced finishes, and the customer service is phenomenal. Prices run about the same as Zaino or Klasse...I really like the results. BTW -- glad to hear you got the PROcede out, and I hope you get your car back ASAP, and that it'll run great for you again...maybe we'll actually get to hit great falls again in a few weeks!

Yeah, i remebered that i forgot to grab a catalogue from you, but ill just get one from their site....i found a hose next to my apartment complex, and the i can do all the detailing inside my apat complex garage, so im probably going to get a bunch of the stuff aswell... When i went to the dealer, i made sure they wrote "DO NOT WASH" on the service order.... Yeah maybe a couple/three weeks or so, might have the V1 installed then aswell, we should take a run and do another round of detailing... Get your corner deletes ordered aswell!!!

Just got a call from my CA and he wanted me to find out from my previous dealer to who i wen to have my fuel pump replaced what EXACTLY they did to my car, so i called them and apparantly they replace the High Pressure Injection HOSE. Not the pump.
I dont know if this was a negligent mistake or the right repair depending on the direction they got for Upper BMW techincians....but my SA says that the fuel pump needs to be replaced...and he has one on backorder for an existing 335i that will only get here in April.... So i will be in a loaner for a while.

Dude, enjoy that sweet Chevy Cobalt.
Any chance they'll switch you to a Bimmer at any point? One of these days, I have to go in to address two issues -- one with my steering column and the other to get my s/w updated. I bet the steering column will be a several day wait. I'm wondering what the loaner policy will be like. I thought they'd put me in a new M6 cab, but maybe a Chevy Cobalt will have to do.

Wow that's gonna be a long wait, did he say when in April?. I thought the SAs can pull up all sort of history from the system
At least they're treating you right with getting you a loaner. Let me know if you're getting a 328i...I want to 'exchange' some audio control knobs and what have you
