Did I install my Forge DVs in the wrong orientation?

In my mind it makes sense to put the outlet opposite of the nipple into the charge pipe, and have the other end routed back to the Pre Turbo intake.

I was looking at the stock DVs and they are mounted vice versa ... what am I missing?

NO,...use the other end of the DV into the charge pipe. The nipples should face once another end on end.

As I said earlier you have them turned the wrong way. I have Forge DV. The top that screws on and has the nipple on it should be facing each other. Here is a pic of the older version with the nipples on the side, but the concept is the same. The CP connects to the SIDE of the DV not the end. BTW this pic is from the install instructions from ForgeMotorsports.

Whichever end has the spring loaded pressure valve plate should be on the charge pipe.

That pic from STETT is the same pic the OP posted..... Sooooooo OP, are you using a STETT CP or are you installing on the stock CP? Also what version of the Forge DV's are you using? The N54 direct replacement units have the nipples on the sides.

OP, your picture is correct. The Forge DVs for the stock charge pipe are installed differently than the ones for your Stett.

Thats right. The first run of forge were orientated side ways. The newer design is mounted with nipple on top.

Easiest way to be sure is find the hole where you can push the flapper up. This opening goes into the charge pipe.

The first and second (newest) version of the OEM replacements have the nipples on the side. The difference is that V2 is a tad smaller and gets rid of the hex collar.

The versions you see standing straight up with the nipple on the end is a universal unit I believe. Both inlet and outlet have standard hose couplings, rather than a machined OEM-like clip-in fitting.
