Amazon had them for 10 cents cheaper when I got mine last week. I know .60 cents isnt much, but I also have prime membership so the 2 day free shipping was the deal maker for me.

Changed mine at 13k and the electrodes were well worn. Going to change every 15k.

Do we have to order the socket from a BMW dealer or are they available at auto parts stores?

I think ECSTuning has the socket for the spark plugs that is much cheaper.

did you notice any difference after changing them out?

Also, do our plugs needs to be gapped or are they all pre-gapped?

1) Yes, the car ran rough at first, a lot of rpm stumbling. I think the car adapts over time to the electrodes slowly wearing away, but has a hard time when the gap goes back to brand new plugs. I used Mr.5's thread on resetting certain adaptions with the BT tool and it fixed the rough idle immediately.

2) pre-gapped.

The goal of the early change (13k) was just to try and avoid the misfires that many tuned people were experiencing. I also ordered a spare set of plugs (autohaus) and a coil (tischer). I keep those around so that if a misfire comes up I can quickly rule things out. I'm hoping the BT tool will allow for injector coding sometime this year.

I changed my plugs just last night, and didn't have any issues with rough idle or stumbling on the new ones.

In addition, I used the socket ECS sells, which worked well but does not have a tight grip on the plugs, so to speak. What that means is that after you get a plug fully unscrewed, the socket itself won't be able to pull it out of the plug well. I used a small magnet tool to grab them. Easy to do but somethng to be aware of.

Here are how mine looked - what do you guys think?
They all appear consistent at least, and because I bought the car used, I'm not sure how many miles they have on them.

Colour looks good, but the electrodes are definitely worn.

I would bet those are the original plugs and judging by the colour looks like you are stock - no tune?

Well the car has 78k miles so I doubt they're original. The car was stock - changed the plugs last night because I was installing my Cobb AP today.
