Hey guys im sure there some of yous on here have successfully completed this mod, why not sure your experience and knowledge with your fellow e90 owners.
I am highly interested to know if there any flaws or the pros and cons with this kind of audio modification, so I know what to do and what to avoid. In addition can someone please tell me what size are the speakers on the front door panel 10mm? and what size speakers are the rear parcel shelf 10mm or 13mm???? Any suggestions and thoughts are welcome and your advise are highly appreciated. please advise Nicnic |

Hi
There are probably a squillion threads on here covering almost everything you need to know about upgrading your stereo. I suggest a good search through! To get you started E90 has 10cm front and rear but that doesn't mean you can't go larger. Depth will be the limiting factor on the front doors

Some people on here have rather skilfully fitted 5" speakers in the front but if I recall, there is a bit of modification and fabrication required. The speakers have to be very shallow because there is not a lot of space. BMW themselves do upgraded speakers for the car, which still fit.

thanks for the reply, as im a newbie within this forum, what do I insert in the search bar? I tried inserting car audio for e.g and it just say no threads found so is it possible to go 13mm at the rear??? and will the 13mm speakers be a direct fitment to the rear parcel shelf? as you mentioned above, as the depth of the speakers would be limited to certain places. again thanks for your help. |

therefore I just want to upgrade the current speakers to a more respectable brand such as infinity or alpine etc for better sound outputs. Im also planning to insert my old bass box which I have lying around the house just to give it a bit more bass as the existing ones cant really handle anything which is shocking lol In addition, Im planning to use the stock head unit to power the new speakers which I know is do able because my local audio garage has the correct plugs and adapters to make this mod happen. Is just that I need to know the EXACT size of the front and rear speakers to carried out the work. thanks for your help and reply |

Currently have pioneer P80BT Double din unit and 2x 10" subs lying around too... looking to install them in my E90 .. does anyone know whether fitting in an aftermarketh H/unit is possible? Also, will doing this mean I lose the sterring wheel controls?
