Exclamation Vishnu PWM Methanol kit product info... FINALLY

Hi guys,
We have been getting slammed with emails/calls about the PWM meth kit. We are sorry if you have not been able to place an order or even get all your meth kit questions answered. We have finally updated our website to provide more product/ordering info: http://www.procedetuning.com/BMW/n54.../methanol.html

Due to a nation-wide shortage of pumps from Aquatec, we are operating on an "official" lead time of 4-6. That's somewhat worst case scenario as we expect to fulfill orders before that time frame. The first batch of orders (which were spoken for weeks ago) should ship out towards the end of this month (once we get next batch of pumps).

For those who currently have our old Vishnu Meth kit and are looking for a "retrofit" kit, we should have all that info up in the following 1-2 weeks. Just trying to get caught up with standard kits right now.

If you have any technical questions, please feel free to ask. We'll answer them as time permits.

If you have already called and placed an order with Robert, then you are good to go. If you weren't charged, it's probably because we are waiting for more pumps and will process the rest of your order once we see them.

I'd hate to give you bad info. Probably best to shoot sales@vishnutuning.com a quick email confirming your order. I think they should be all caught up with emails by the end of the day.

Sorry for the question Shiv, but does this charge pipe fit exactly like stock? Is it significantly larger to fit in there? Just wondering if it will fit with a CAI

It's significantly larger in diameter. Especially between the TB and the elbow. We really can't say if it will fit with anything other than DCIs or the stock airbox.

The waiting is finally over but $1115 and no speed delimiter

I hope you'll offer a stand alone speed delimiter soon since the PWM Meth kit makes no sense without speed delimiter here in Germany.

Is that the reason why the speed delimiter doesn't work with the 3-30 beta maps?

Shiv, I have an Injen DCI, will this unit fit underneath and is the pump unit able to be relocated and mounted in a slanted or horizontal position? Need to know if I am looking at a new DCI as well as the Kit+Charge Pipe. Thanks

Shiv,

What is THIS in the CP pic? Is this why your kit will not work with other aftermarket CP. I have the Evolution Racewerks CP and do not want to buy another one if possible since I just got it about 1 month ago. I am most interested in a trunk mount system with the CP I have now and your PWM Kit. Is this doable?

That is a pressure switch. It can be installed in your ER chargepipe. Just make sure it has enough wall thickness to take several threads. If not, you'll need to weld in a bung and then tap that.

Shiv, will those of us with your older meth kit be able to get rid of our labonte failsafe and controller and just run off the proceed?

Shiv,

What does that pressure switch do on post 11? Just an extra failsafe incase the pump sends out too much pressure?

Oh, why not put the meth bungs past the DV pipes? I know they will be closed during boost but I wouldn't want any meth getting up there.

Shiv,

Have an ER charge pipe as well for an 07. Asked this before but never got answered...do we have to tap the actual pipe? Can we not either tap the silicone elbow or replace it with a meth elbow to make this kit work? Will this be offered

You can use a silicon elbow for the tap, however, it only cost like $25 to drill and weld a meth bung on the ER chargepipe. If your pipe is powder coated, that might be an issue with the welding. The pipe is very thin and you can only get like 2 threads on it, so a bung will need to be welded.

As I understand, the pump will be located under the engine bay near steering reservoir? What about people with PPK?

The pressure switch is simply to "arm" the pump. During cruise, the pump is not spinning. But as soon as charge pipe pressure reaches ~3psi, it's up and running.

As for the meth bungs, we put them upstream of the DVs for better atomization/distribution. Mounting the meth nozzles too close to the throttle body can result in cylinder to cylinder variance where the rear cylinders are getting more meth than the front ones. This is also why we oversized the charge pipe diameter between the elbow and the TB. To slow the intake charge velocity as much as possible which gives the meth more time to atomize/distribribute before entering the throttle body. Not really worried about meth spraying out of the bypass valves because 1) they aren't venting to atmosphere and 2) the solenoid shuts when they discharge.

Good question. I don't know. I'll have to look into it. At the very worse. PPK users may have to run a traditional install (pump and bottle in the trunk).

Yes. You will be using the Aquamist flow meter which has been proven to 100% meth compatible and far more durable that all the other flow meters offered by Coolingmist, AEM, Labonte, etc,. None of the other ones really appear to be designed for more than 50/50 mixtures despite claims. And you would only use the flow tube (what is usually hidden inside the failsafe device). The Procede will procede the raw digital signal so no need for D/A converting or "middleman" signal processing. And correct, no need for an additional controller either. Procede will take care of all that.
