All these codes, just limped.....

Hi

I need help please...

10702 - misfire cyl 2 (going to change the plugs)

12020 - ?? (have no clue, it's not on the N54 code list)

10740 - catalytic converter 1 inefficiency (?? I'm catless!)

10887 - outlet-vanos variable cam control test (??)

12544 - boost-pressure control, deactivation (WTF??)

What should I do?! I'm out of warranty FYI.....

TIA!

One of your Vanos solenoids needs to be replaced. Common problem with cars with more that 50k on the clock. When it throws a vanos control test code, it will always be accompanied by other codes. Luckily a vanos solenoid is less than $100 and takes 5 min to install. Might be worth doing both (intake and exhaust) if they are original.

12020 = 2EF4 which is "Thermostat characteristic diagram cooling, mechanical" whatever that means

EDIT: According to endtuning.com it is "Map Thermostat Mechanism Jammed" not sure that helps anymore

Thats where I bought mine and I only replaced the exhaust, but not a bad idea to do both.

Are you referring to the cat converter code? I thought there's another code for O2 sensors when they're bad, I believe I've had one like that before.......

Just don't wanna start ordering parts when I'm not sure that's the issue........

Your o2 sensor is fine. That's just a cat code from running aftermarket (or fewer/no) cats. That's handled by CANclear periodically not not trigger any dash light.
