OS Giken LSD Installed on E90 335i

Just drove in rain. Car just plain hooks up now, even in 1st gear around a tight right or left hand turn with DSC fully off. Will drive more tomorrow.

BMW, why did you cripple our cars from the factory? I'd have gladly ticked an options box with $1500 or $2000 next to it back in '06 when I ordered the car that said "locking rear differential." Nearly 5 yrs of owning the car, and now $3k later, the problem is fixed for good. Whew.

An LSD is next on my mod list. We have too much power and too little traction.

Couldn't agree more...getting a quaife LSD installed tomorrow morning. Cannot wait!

Update: LOVE IT!! Got the 3.46 ratio off an auto...car is always ready to go and now it actually hooks up...love turns now!

So why did you choose OS Giken over Quaife?

Is the OS Giken a clutch type? Ive always liked clutch types more than helical/torsen.

OP I agree completely, I would even go so far as to say that this car shouldn't have been available without a LSD from the beginning.

Anybody who has tried some even slightly "spirited driving" around corners with the standard diff knows how much the lack of a LDS lets this car down big time. I would rather have the LSD than any of the other mods (including tune) that I have. For tracking, this car is pretty much useless without the LSD, and an absolute bliss with
