Exhaust tip- weld or bolt-on sleeve?

I'm thinking of changing the droopy tailpipe on my diesel and ive looked through the various threads and posts on the topic. What I'm wondering is why most choose to weld a replacement tailpipe in place yet some others have just cut the 'droop' off and bolted on a sleeve?

Is there a technical reason for this or just personal preference?

Cheers,

Ry

Garage List
Bolt Ons are favoured by those who don't possess a welder!

Go for the welded on tips, much better.

+1 ive just done it to mine used an angle grinder to cut off the old horrid thing back to where its round, bolted on a twin 3" tail pipe then had a mate run a mig welder around it, that way it will never slip round and look pooooo, nothing wrong with just using the clamp that comes with it if you havnt got a welder
