Finally, my Baby is delivered...
Well, after a long wait, I finally took delivery of my Sophisto Grey 520D this weekend.
Specs are: 520D SE, Sophisto Grey, Oyster/Black interior, sports wheel, Anthracite trim, Professional Multimedia package and 328 18" wheels. I'll post more pics soon (yes, I know, I know, of the interior..) and also after I give her a proper paint treatment. I've got mudspats to fit as well, which I think may be a worthwhile thing given English weather and roads in the Winter. I'm currently having issues with the headlights staying on whatever the time of day in 'auto' mode and also getting the DRL's to light up. |

Very nice, enjoy .... I had the same problem with my auto lights staying on all the time but after a couple of weeks it just seemed to settle down and is fine now.

Good lookin car my friend...post more pics when u get the chance. My DRLs still don't work, didn't have the time to get it fixed, besides the halogen DRLs aren't that impressive anyway.

And your DRL's? Do they do as they're told? |

Didn't call them, thought I would leave it a week or so before calling them and it sorted itself by then. Could be the light sensor just needed to settle in, who knows.
DRL's seem to work fine have the two pairs of halo eyes on all the time, our kids love what they call the mean look of it. In general I love the lights first car with Xenons and they are great, love the auto dim/main beam function too. |

i notice your car (which looks great by the way) has headlight washers.... did you spec these as an optional extra (stand alone or part of something else, such as xenons) or did they come standard?
Thanks |

No, they come as standard. I was surprised too. I actually found out some time before I picked it up through another poster here. Nice. |

Can anyone else confirm that headlight washers come as standard as they are classed as an optional extra on the BMW UK price list. Furthermore when I checked with my dealer (before placing my order 4-5 weeks ago) I was told they were a paid for optional extra. From memory the cost wasn't significant but given the chance I could redirect the cash towards something else. Many thanks |

Headlight washers are standard. If you are able I'd definitely spec the visibility pack - the xenons are brilliant, adaptive lights are great too and the DRLs look so much better.

In the daytime I leave the switch in the 'off' position and the DRL's light up, however, you do have to select this option in idrive. |

Must admit my auto-lights seem a bit keen and come on when I wouldn't have put them on myself.

Just to note - the headlight washer things are there in the bumper regardless if you spec them or not!
I have normal light and have the little bulges in the bumper suggesting i have headlight washers - i def dont! Nice car mind - same as mine... makes me want bigger wheels!!

Aha. So the bumpers have the cut-outs but just blanking caps on halogen models unless washers are specced. I just assumed. Obviously xenons will have washers as it's a legal requirement.

I'm assuming you're not in the UK then. In the UK it's a legal requirement, not necessarily in other markets. And this is a posting in the UK forum...
