E92 335I Upgrade or Trade for E92 M?
Ok so I want to do some more upgrades on my 335I, I currently have SSTT, AP cat back Exhaust, and AFE dual cone intake, I was thinking of going with a Cobb, replacing my whole suspension no coilovers, new intercooler, and adding an oil cooler, after discussing it with the wife, she suggested that I trade in the car for the E92 M and use the money I'm going to spend in upgrades as a down on the M.
She knows I want an M but I was thinking on waiting for the next gen to come out and buy one then, but I do feel tempted to take her advice and trading my coupe for the M. I'm changing duty station in November and will be going to Germany for a few years and thought I can get one there but after looking @ some of their classifieds is better for me to buy it in the States and have the Army ship it there. I’m also not trying to buy a new one, not that I wouldn't want to, but with a mortgage and not knowing how long it might take for my house to rent out I can't get in a $1000 car payment. By the way my E92 has Sport package, Sport Suspension, Premium Package. What do ya'll suggest I do? |

nope, absolutely no. I drive like 35k to 40k miles a year so 335i gives a better mpg and ive never driven a turbo car so give a try to 335i. M3 is def a good car, you wont regret getting it. I can tell you that the m3 is very reliable car, never had any issue on it

With that situation, I would keep with 335. Save the mod money for repairs/down payment for next gen M.

Yeah that all make sense, I'm going to Europe and gas is not cheap, I'll stick to my 335I and save the money for when I'm ready to come back CONUS, I'll might order one thru European Delivery.

I would however change tunes, the tunes have come along way since the SSTT. Cobb, JB4 or procede would be a great upgrade for something under $800 and would make the car a completely different animal. |
