335i oscillations in decel under power after Catless install

Setup: 2008 E90 335i, FMIC, Catless DP, DCI, and Vishnu V5.

Problem: While decelerating under power (still in gear) car begins to oscillate between a normal decel, decreased power and then back to normal decel.....oscllate fore and aft instead of a smooth decel. Of course no problem in neutral. Problem is worse down hill in gear.

First noticed it after AR catless DP install. I've been back to the shop to check for leaks, install, etc. everything is good with the install.

Anyone see this before after catless install?

The only problem related to this that I can think of is damage or inversion or the primary O2 sensors.

I suspect your o2 sensors were re-installed reversed. Which will cause an off/on power issue as the engine cycles rich-lean-rich-lean. But it should trigger some codes after some driving.

Thanks for the help...No codes present, Map DIC 3-30....would Vishnu autoclear clear all codes associated with DP's or just select ones?...should I shut clearing off and see what pops up? Is there anyway to tell by looking which o2 sensor is which?

Not surprised. Just take it back to who installed it and let them go over their work.

Well, installer marked'em during the install to make sure he didn't install them backward, so probably not the case.....

could it be the o2 sensor is on it's way out.....couple weeks ago (prior to catless dp install) got misfires in 5&6 cylinders, cruddy plugs changed them out.....problem solved....

Doesn't bank 2 o2 sensor control these cylinders.....Could it be I had bad o2 sensor that was exacerbated (from my word of the day calendar) by the catless DP install?

I have the same oscillation. It seems like power kicks out then kicks back in. I noticed it a lot today while on a 85mph road trip, especially going downhill. We also marked the o2 sensors for the install.

Let off the gas in gear on a long downhill and it's very noticeable. Any ideas? The bad o2 sensor idea makes sense, in theory, like to see if someone has solved this prior to pulling the trigger on a new one.....

Is there any data log way to check if o2 sensor is crapping out....like voltage or anything? I data logged it 2 weeks ago and it oscillated every second or so between .039 - .843.......normal?

Yup letting off the gas is when I noticed it most, too. Pop the car in neutral and no more oscillations (obviously).

Was using Vishnu as o2 modifier before harness upgrade, I just sprung for BMS o2 sim v3....well see if that makes a dent...

I doubt that will as the ECU still uses the values from the o2 sensors, just the fix or CANclear removes the codes. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. When I get back from vacation Tuesday I'm going to swap the plugs and see if that helps. Shouldn't take but a few minutes (including removing/replacing underpan) to swap the harness plugs. I seem to recall they're right next to each other. Maybe try that first?

Maybe, I'll work on that this week. Need to find a DIY for the o2 sensors, never messed with them.....

Installed BMS o2 DP fix (o2 simulator v3) today, problem solved, or at least masked...........for now it's smooth on stock tune and very very smooth 3-30 DIC. Seems to have leaned out the car quite a bit.....Plugged it right into the vishnu procede v5 harness 19, 20, & 23 pins.......the v5 o2 modifier occupied the 19 & 20 pins...sure someone can shed some light on what feature occupies 23 pin on yellow harness. Full day of driving with v5 CANclear function disabled, hard pulls, no codes, and no interference w/procede.
