Question about adhesive...when it comes to attaching spoiler

To be exact the OEM competition spoiler. I know somewhere above there is a post already but my question focus on the adhesive mainly. I wonder if all installers of the spoiler use Betalink K1 or K2 only rather than 3M tape?

3M tape is more accessible but down side is it doesn't hold the spoiler as good as Betalink due to the size and angle of competition spoiler.
and I am also worry that the tape will be visible from close up, I mean, the tape has its thickness...

Betalink is strong according to every user but my concern is not permanent attachement but I can find a place/website which sells it...pardon my reseach skills but am I really going to pop up at the dealership asking for glue?

Using BMW Part Number 82-69-9-408-866, you can find this kit on many tuner sites. Most places are sold out and it is a national backorder. So, anything is 2-3 weeks out unless you find it in stock.

I just found one kit at a Mini dealership.

Just call or email around. Took me about 2 hours to find a place that had a kit in-stock. They were very happy to sell and ship it to me. Got it two days later.

3M tape is fine..... just don't apply it up to the very edge of the spoiler, put it back about 1-2 mm so you can't see the tape.

Will there be a very noticeable gap between the trunk and the spoiler? Im also concerned that there is not enough surface area on the spoiler to properly attach the tape.. Is there a video diy out there with the 3M tape? all I found was the euro tuner vid, and it wasnt that detailed and was for an E90.

Used 3M tape on my E90 and had no issues. fitment is perfect and there is no gap

Press the spoiler down hard enough and there will be a minimal gap (barely noticable). If you look hard enough, you can see a small gap (again, you can hardly tell) on the OEM lip that comes with the car. You can use some painters tape to hold down the spoiler in place to allow the tape to grab and hold tight. I still haven't done mine because the weather has been lousy, but planning on doing it today as long as there's no storms around. The hardest part I think is going to be the removal of the old one that came with the car and getting all of the tape they used off.

i used 3M and there is absolutely no gap... use fishing line and the oem spoiler will come off easily. soak the old 3M in goo-gone and then it will come off fairly easily. hope it goes well!
