I spend more on cleaning supplies than fuel!

Yes I have been waxing a different section each time I wash it. (usually weekly). I try to do the top, hood and trunk lid most often, as the sun beats down on them the most, followed by the front and back, and finally the sides. I also do the wheels about every 2 months to help keep the brake dust down. The sides get waxed least often because the paint gets the least abuse there.

If you wax a section or two every time you wash, you won't have to wax the whole thing every month or so. That way I don't stay up too late waxing.

Not a bad method CC 330i. I also do the hood, roof, and trunk lid most often for the same reason - also the front to help protect against the bug guts. I'm also fanatical about waxing the sunroof - it keeps it from getting those baked on water spots.

That reminds me of an old practical joke my friend did to me on my old GTI when I was 17. I was so crazy about waxing it, he told me to wax the windshield because it will make the water streak off more easily.

Let me be clear about this: DON'T DO THIS!

On the sunroof I am sure it is OK, just don't do it on the windshield. Trust me.

No, that would be a no no. I do the rear window though, same reason - makes the water just fall off!

Hmmm. I haven't tried that. Don't think it would cause a problem. Something about the windshield wipers on the waxed windshield was the problem...

There used to be a product called "Glasswax" that was awsome, IMO.
I haven't seen it lately and don't know if it's still available. But if I could find it, I'd use it.

Rain-X seems to work pretty well anywhere you have some wind action to blow the drops off. I usually don't even use the wipers as long as I keep up the R-X on the windshield.

I'm picking up my car in 2 weeks. I have already got winter tires, Zaino, and floor mats! I want to get MF towels and get my lifetime Sirius subscription ready before pickup.
