Lost CA Remote
Hey guys so as the title states I lost my CA key fob and need replace it. I called a couple local dealers to get some estimates. I find it amazing how much some dealers will charge.
Anyone care to share their experiences on how much they paid if you had to buy a CA remote? I have searched and found a couple threads not very concise though IMO. Please post how much for the remote and the coding and what dealer. Thanks guys!

Not entirely related to the OP's question, but how many fobs can you have per car, and how screwed are you if you lose all the fobs?
I've had Saabs for some years now, loosing the last key to a modern Saab is a $1500+ wallet melting experience as the anto-theft computer has to be replaced. No way to program a key if you don't have a working key. -Kevin |

There are 5 or more copies of your key that you have to burn through before duplicating your Saab experience.

I had always heard EWS/CAS means 10 keys per car. Lose them all and game is over without some $$$ flowing out of your wallet and to BMWNA. Wouldn't that be interesting if previous owners lost 9 keys and now you've lost the 10th? LOL

I actually think that would blow chunks! Losing 10 keys that is, granted if you manage to lose all 10 keys then you probably deserve it.
Also, I do agree that under 300 is a great price. However, I have yet to find anywhere that will do it for that price.

1. when I lost my Lexus key fob the dealer wanted 300ish alone for the key. And another 100ish for programming. Which according to them took a few hours.. Lol..

Will the recharging hardware of the car be damage by the fact that the CA key fob does not have a rechargeable battery?, Will the baterry of the CA key fob explode if I put it in the slot of the non CA car for a long period of timeż
