Angry I hate BAMBI

So driving home last night, a mile from my house, about 5 deer come running across the road. I avoid 4 of them, but tag the last one, so needless to say I need a new bumper and hood, DAMMMMMMM

Sorry for the rant!!!!

Headlight OK?

Every one of the three deer I've taken out have damaged the headlight too.

On a positive note, this falls under the comprehensive portion of your insurance so your rates won't be affected. I hope you have a low comp deductible.

Use a quality body shop (ask in your local forums) and don't ever use the one recommended by insurance.

Sorry, but the deer whistles are useless and may lull you into a false sense of security.

All the goofing aside, OP you really need to pay attention to the repair. YOU need to closely inspect the damage and make notes of it. I hit a deer at 12,000 miles when my car was 7 months old, so I've been through it.

If the hood is damaged it may be quite possible the core support (the front frame memebr of the car that holds the radiator) is damaged and it may be not be detected without close inspection. The core support is fiber-reinforced plastic (not metal) and can get cracked in an accident such as this.

Here is what the damage to my car was. The crack is on the right (passenger) side on the core support right in front of the black cap in the AC line.

Good luck with it. Take it to a certified BMW repair body shop.
