any real world experience with the laser jammers? just seem like a really expensive illusion of safety to me...

I had it on my 2005 M3 works great no tickets with a laser gun.

where and how much did you get the laser jammer for? do you also use a radar like a passport or something similar?

The Laser Interceptor Quad jammer seems to be hands down the best. A good quality, propery installed Laser Jammer works. For a LOT of info, tests and very interesting discussions, check out this Forum:
