Is there a way to check the effectiveness of the diverter valves ?

Hi,

I am wondering, is there a way to check of the stock diverter valves are up to the job on my GIAC S2 flash ? I mean, my car runs perfectly but then, why do some people upgrade to Forge DVs ? How can I check if the diverter valves are working ok ? Is there something to log with the BT tool ? Is there a specific test to do ?

30ff code means they have popped out of their holes. There is a smoke leak test that Terry performed on n54. He showed that stockers held up to 25 psi if they are not damaged. If they are damaged, you sould be 1-2 psi short of your boost target on your logs.

Very interesting...they mention "reduced turbo lag between shifts" with upgraded diverter valves.

It seems that boost spikes at shifting can be reduced using proper DVs.

But of course, this remains to be tested...

boost spikes can be addressed with Jb3 throttle adjustment, not sure how its done on jb4. I have Hyperboost DV's and I love them. No diaphram to break so no wondering if my DVs are leaking, they can't as long as the backs are screwed on tight and the hoses are zip tied to the inlet, unlike Forge and the stockers which have the diaphram. I picked my upgrades up for $200.00. I wasn't sure how to service them so I had a little issue a few months back but I found a DIY on an Audi site and now I am good to go! The diaphrams make sure there are no tiny leaks but when the tear it can be hard to identify. I found them on-line as a dealership has been installing them with Dinan Stage 2 Tune upgrades. Hyperboost DVs sound amazing...like a blow off valve without the ricey whistling.
