Question about Can Tool and Check Engine

Greetings

I have a N55 with the JB3/ FMIC/ AFE filter, and gol ftee mod.

Today i turned the car on and there was a check engine ligth on and the monitors says something about less power or some bs like that.

I turned the car off and on again and the same thing happened.

i waited like 5 mits and turn it on again and the light was off. i rev a bit and no light

i got home and tried to see the codes with the can tool.

i plugged the obd2 cable to the can tool and turned the car on and pressed the button for 5 secs and nothing happened (no flashers turned on). I did repeated the same thing a couple of time and nothing.

weird.

my question is what am doing wrong to read the codes?

second of all are there any updates to the can tool?

any thoughts what my have triggered the check engine light?

First, you are doing it wrong. You need to press the button on the tool just once, not hold it. Read the instructions on Burgers page, it explains in DETAIL how to do this process.

Second, Contact Terry@ BT He has a firmware update for this
