I did that testing with an aftermarket intercooler. The STETT averaged 9F cooler with the aftermarket intercooler over DCIs. With a stock intercooler, I would guess 14-17F difference.

I started an in depth thread based on the gen 1 intake. We used most of FB's data to start the discussion.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=461700 enjoy... basically it says that the CAI is either one of the first mods you pick up if your going to keep it simple. Real WHP gains if you use it with stock set up and a tune. Or its one of the last upgrades one would make, assuming you would do a tune, and FBO (full bolt on mods, intake, exhaust, down pipes, intercooler) and Methanol Injection. Basically most of the cooling gains can be made on methanol alone. Heat soak would be addressed best by an upgraded fmic, and finally the density of the incoming air can be improved by the CAI. The myth that the STett CAI increased waste gate duty was, for the most part, busted! Either way its a steal at $200.00. I was going to take my fmic savings and grab that one on post but the money will be better spent on a fmic upgrade. If I wasn't running meth I would have done it and never looked back!
