Bad to install intake or exhaust before 2000 miles?

Think i'm getting a new 2011 and wanted to install an intake and exhaust, but wanted to know if it would cause any harm to install before the usual 2,000 mile break in period even if the car is not taken to high rpms. If someone could give me some advice or pointers that'd be great.
Thanks

If it's BMW performance items no big deal. Otherwise you'll probably be voiding your warranty!
