Little speedo video
Installed my plm downpipes a couple days ago. Fit was perfect btw. Did a little video.
Mods: Procede v4 17psi Meth Kittyless downpies DCI Chargepipe with Tial FMIC goes on next week, and based on the video, a clutch as it seem to have slipped a little on the 4-5 shift. the initial rpm rise in 3rd is traction problems, but not enough to flash the light. Every since I put these pipes on I am having a hard time with traction on 3rd gear rolls, which is odd. I thought it might be the clutch, but I have gotten that light to off before on 3rd gear rolls. Enjoy Based on inaccurate times, it looks like 60-130 in the sub 10 second range, which isnt bad. Ill see what the FMIC does to help. Last edited by Clap135; 12-03-2010 at 11:24 PM.. |

Yea its traction issues, however I think after nearly 41k my clutch might be starting to go. You can sorta hear it on the 4-5 shift, however btwn shifting slow, and holding a camera while going that fast, it might have been just me.
Since I put these pipes on I have seen the light go off on 3rd gear rolls multiple times already. It cold here and I am still on summer tires. 1st gear is useless, 2nd is useless and dangerous lol |

I doubt that was a traction issue in 3rd gear at 5k rpm.
I'll bet that it's the clutch.

no trust me, the hankook v12s suck to begin in, it was 32 degrees outside and I was on a concrete road. I have seen that light flash multiple times in 3rd since I put the downpipes on. However the 4-5 shift sounded odd, so it might be the begining of the end of the clutch as well.
Also if you listen to the engine sound in 3rd gear during the traction issue, you will see the speedo jump as well. If it was the clutch, the speedo wouldnt go up, let alone jump up a little faster. |

Clap, why don't u load up 3rd gear at low RPMs to see if it really is the clutch? It won't hold for long if your clutch is about to meet its maker.

I just did that in 4th gear going up a hill, nothing. 2200 rpm, floored it, pulled straight to 5500ish before I let off. I will be replacing the clutch soon either way. 41k on the car, 40k tuned, stock clutch so its bound to act up sooner or later.

nice. Now get that FMIC in there and let's do a little 6AT vs 6MT run, same tune, same mods, same boost. You weigh about 80 lbs more than me and my car weighs 200 more.

Traction problems around here in 3rd gear are very common, almost put my car into a wall the other day because of it.
Most of mine are shifting into 3rd though. Last edited by Jeff@TopGearSolutions; 12-04-2010 at 10:52 AM.. |

Funny you say that lol. Jp came along for a ride and after about 5 min he goes " f this, theres no point of driving my car to get a rush anymore, it so much better when you are sideways as a passenger"
In all seriousness, the v12 SUCK. I think I have like 15k plus k on them and ALOT of sliding around, they still look good in the rear. |

yes the weather/roads around here are starting to get scary in a high HP car. mine is a freakin handful low boost only this time of year except for premeditated testing runs.

fmic is on, feels the same i guess? lol My butt dyno is not very sensative as I don't usually feel gains with anything. The only time I felt a gain is when I put a tune on lol.
Next up ACT clutch. Then I give it two weeks before the car breaks. lol |
