BMS DCI - Worth it?

Hey guys,

I just want you guys to make the decision for me. Shall I get BMS DCI or not for my 335I?

I have read tons of reviews, they all say different things, loss of hp, gain of hp then some say worse off in low rpm then better at high end rpm. so which is which? The more important thing to me is the sound. Does it really make a difference? (With windows down)

Hope someone can tell me what to do:P

P.S. I will get JB3 along with BMS DCI if I am going to get it.

Thank you!

Yes, it does make a difference in sound. And yes there is an increase in power. There must be 100 threads asking this exact question. So whatever you read, expect to hear the exact same thing.

I understand they work, especially with a tune, but the 2 aspects I don't like about them are the looks (especially because you can see the ugly intake manifold) and the sound. One thing I really like about our 335s is that they don't feel (no lag) or sound (spool) like traditional turbo cars and I want to keep mine that way.

P.S.S. get a BT cable while your at it. though i dont have either, i feel the BT cable is necessary if you have your car under warranty(which is should, its almost mandatory*) dont wanna go to the dealer with tuner codes

Like someone else said, if you add a tune, you see more benefit. I really think the JB+ DCI and BT Cable is a great way to get more power out of your car without the hassle of going into your ECU etc. Adds great power, sounds better (IMO, I like to hear spool), and is really easy to deal with for dealer visits. And you have the BT cable for any diagnostic needs. I came from Audi world (VAG-COM) and I wouldnt buy another car without a diagnostic tool of some kind. Good luck.

slight bit more power up top when tuned but some say can lose you power without tune. personally, don't think you should weigh heavy on performance gain of DCI. i got it cause i like the sound. i think your decision should be "should i buy a v4/jb3?"

Worried they would sound too weird but actually a nice subtle change and the turbo spooling is nice and doesn't attract a lot of attention. IMO use alone more for sound.

Some say intakes are OK to leave in but I wouldn't chance it. Easy to put in and easy to take out. Not much to lose and not that expensive. Wont throw codes by itself. But use with jb+ or other tune and get sound and perf benefit.

If u don't like take out and sell for at least halfnprice and you're still out only $50.

It probably took less than 30 minutes to install mine for the first time. I just installed mine this weekend.

I have a question for the people that have a DCI, and have gone to the stealership. Do they make a big deal about having intakes when you take the car in for service? Or repairs? Just wondering before I take it in, cus I think my fuel injectors are acting up.....3rd time I'll be taking the car in for service in less than 4 months for the same sh1t.....
