Rear DVD Entertainment?
I noticed in the configurator there is a rear-seat DVD Entertainment system for the E90.
Anyone order this or seen it on an order guide? Retrofittable DVD for the car, your hotel room and leisure time. The retrofittable portable DVD system in high-quality BMW design makes every trip on holiday with your children, time spent at the airport or at a hotel a genuine cinema experience: The system consists of a DVD player with a 10.2-inch TFT monitor for playing DVD, CD, MP3 and WMA formats inside and outside the car. Playback is by cordless infra-red headsets or via built-in loudspeakers. Just wondering the cost and usability of this (where is the DVD player located?) |

The system is retrofittable
Its supposed to cost 4.5Hours labour to fitt No prices available yet A docking station is fitted to the roof ( 2 models depending on if you have sunroof or not ) Then you get 1) The dvd player with screen 2) Battery for portable use 3) Mains adapter for out of car use 4) 2 Headphones 5) Remote control 6) Carrying bag There are a number of different models of the player depending on your DVD region ( eg USA/Canada region 1, UK/South Africa Region 2 ect ect ) |

Great info E90Fleet, just what I wanted to hear. Retrofittable hopefully means I can get it at a discount and use a TIS disc for instructions on the fitting and save a bundle.
That 10.2 inch screen would look huge in a car the size of an E90. Probably completely block the rear view mirror too. But if you take long road trips with kid(s) it can be worth it... Any idea of the retail price of the kit? I haven't seen pricing anywhere. Thanks again! Ian |

Hah BMW is really trying to cash in on trends in recent years - Carbon Fiber bumper splitters and now I.C.E (In Car Entertainment). This looks like something that you'd see at a tuner car show... but it is cool

Thanks for the info. If it's priced similarly in US that's over $1,800 (US). I assume your prices doesn't include an estimate for cost of installation.
