Angry Not enough 128i enthusiasts =/

we dont have enuff enthusiasts!!!!! the treads regarding our cars so little, and the exhaust, engine drivetrain - which is the most interesting and best thread is a GHOST TOWN. i guess its cuz we dont have as many problems and modifications to discuss... =/ i'm always snooping around the 135i threads cuz there is always new stuff. i dont go into e90post cuz it make me depressed that i dont have my e92 anymore lmaooo,,so sad

although i probably wont purchase any of these, i would love to see burger motorsports come out with a dci or single cone intake for the 128i. currently its the afe one which is super expensive, i think injen has one too.

I just think the market for 128i mods isn't there. I wish more products were out there though besides the cosmetic upgrades.

We are in the minority, no question. The BMW Performance parts are pricey but at least offer something for the NA folks. Would be nice if some other companies supported our cars. Damn forced induction

Most of the mods that are available for the 128i are also available for the 135i, so you'll see a lot more of the 128i guys active in other subforums, like the suspension subforum (for example). The powertrain mods simply aren't there for the most part, so this subforum doesn't have much going on.

well in terms of cosmetic, suspension and wheel mods, it is about the same. The main thing we are missing is a really good ecu tune.

True. I know a guy with a 335i that has had five fuel pumps! He still loves the car though.

There are some bits about the 128, like the golf tee mod to the exhaust. I did the BMW Performance cold air intake, and it looks great and works. Still might get the exhaust as well, and just ordered the KW coil over suspension from **********s. I am excited about that... Should make the car a blast to drive.

I love my 128. It gets very little respect from this forum, but it's a great car.

Sometimes I feel like I am reading 135addicts.com.

the 128i is awesome! Why don't you go to the 328i section, there is a lot of discussion going on, from putting in a supercharger to getting 300 hp in the engine from ecu tune and some 330i parts. Remember we share the same engine, so what applies to them applies to us. The 328i people are more then us, so the vendors stick more around there.

The issue for me is money : (. I would love to get a good exhaust like the BMW PE, but at its current price, no way : (.

i know exactly... $ is a modblock lol. i really want the icarbon front lip, boot lid and rear diffuser but they are soo expensive. the performance upgrades are even worse so im not even thinking about those at this point ... *sighhh*

but is that really true? i know they are the same engines but that doesnt mean you can use intakes for 328 on our 128s.. does it??

so glad i went for the 1 and not 328, much better car for me, even though the deal on a 328i lease was way cheaper.

I am pretty sure they do actually! I went on the injen website and they list the exact same part number for the 128i as the 328i. Also when installing it, they install it on a 330i in the instruction manual that came with my intake, so when installing it for my 128i I followed the same exact steps.

I've been thinking about an intake as well but I read the injen or the afe has a horrible drone at cruising speeds. I made my first real mod to the car when I put the E93 M3 sway bar on 2 weekends back and it is outstanding... the only other thing I've done to my car is add star specs and tint the windows but I still absolutely love my car. I just decide any time I find intake or exhaust money that I'd be better off using that to pay it off so someday it will be mine and I can have it forever

At the end of the day if I had it to do over again I would still buy my 128 over a 135, with all the issues the turbos have had, and I know there have been some problem 128's as well, my 128i has been perfect. Other then scheduled maintenance the only service trips have been recalls for the seat belts and tail lights.

I love my 128i too. Just wish it had a bigger aftermarket. I thought somebody would have made a SC or big turbo setup for our car by now.

are you happy with your injen intake? whats the difference in the lower 1-3k rpm range? its hard for me to image what an intake will do to a NA engine of our cars, with my 335, i know it was a world of difference cuz u can hear the turbos n all, i watched some youtube clips of 128i wiht intakes but cant really notice a huge difference, maybe its just the videos..

yea i would <3 to get that PE but its too expensive..

here is my review and video I did earlier

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=418834

1-3k rpm sounds the same, maybe a bit louder but not anything i noticed.
then it starts to peak up untill 4k, then all hell is broken loose. I BARELY notice any drone. I either 1) have the music up too much, or the air is blowing in my face. So to me, the drone is not big enough to take notice. Mind again I drive at 75 mph to on highway everyday, so maybe I am use to it.

The only time you hear a droning effect is if you stay at 4k. If the rpm is going up and down or staying lower than 4k, you won't hear any droning.
