Week 41 builds
Thought I'd start a new thread for any week 41ers. Anybody out there with production dates this week? Just found out that my 550xi is scheduled to be completed 10-20. Tough waiting for it.

Your wait times are amazingly short. I ordered mine on 8/9, and got done on 10/5 only. Status 193 at this point in time, waiting for a vessel...

Just called the 800 # and production completion date moved up by 1 day I checked out the ships leaving after the 20th and looks like it could get out by the 23rd. My dealer sends me weekly updates, so he may have more info next week.

I ordered my car on September 29th. My dealer had a build slot available for first week October and added the options and color I wanted. My car was finished on Oct 9th and has been at the port since Oct 12th waiting to get on a ship.
If BMW uses usual shipping company next ships scheduled out are Oct 16th and 18th and arrive in Baltimore, where my car is supposed to get off on on Oct 29th. One ship makes one less stop on trip to Baltimore, that's why they arrive same day. If my car misses those ships the next ship available to ship on is October 25th. If you are still waiting, does that mean that my car will be in the same vessel as yours since I am also in the west coast (California)?

Well I hope so CarBrain. Mine finished production on the 5th, and went to the port pretty soon after that ( I believe the 7th), and since then it has been there. On Thursday this week, which is the day that the west coast delivery ships leave from Bremerhaven, the status went to In Transit on the 800 number. But neither my CA nor the BMWNA agents can confirm it, and the online information is also showing Waiting for Shipment...

Week 41
Even though BMW website, BMW automatic vehicle status update, and BMW Customer Service say my car is still at the port waiting a shipping date, the shipping company website says my car was shipped two days ago on October 16th on the Torino from Bremerhaven due in Baltimore Oct 29th.
If I get the car the first week of November, that will be 5 weeks from when I ordered the car. Way faster than the last two. |

I just called today (10/19) and it says "Vehicle production is complete and is waiting to be release to the carrier."
Yes!!! one step closer. I wonder how long it will take for the car to be "en route."

CarBrain, you can talk to the human rep when you call and get the 3-digit code associated with the status. If you are at 193 (which would mean having arrived at the port of exit), then you would be at the same state as me.
I hope we end up in the same vessel, mostly for my benefit as I am sure you will get past me since that seems to be the norm (I honestly do not understand the logic behind it, but I am sure I will find out the reason sooner or later). Keep us posted.

I just talked with a human representative and she told me that my 3-digit code status is only at 190. The next one is 193 which will be the same as yours. I guess you are still waiting for me if your car have not left the port yet. It must be agonizing for you since yours finished production way before mine. It is strange for your delay because we both order the 550i.

Yup, you got it. At this point, the best thing that can happen is for both of our cars to hit the vessel leaving on Thursday and arrive in LA safe and sound. I will update this board as soon as I see a change in the status, and am expecting you do the same. Good luck!

Well, kinda stinks that you all are west coast deliveries and I'm east coast. Since I'm in St. Louis I'm expecting mine to port in Baltimore. We'll probably be on different ships. As of yesterday morning, my update was "In Transit to port of exit." Hopefully mine gets on a boat this weekend.

I did not have any good news so I did not post.
But right now, when I called this morning 8:30 AM (10/22) the machine told me that mine is "at the port awaiting a shipping vessel." It was the same message that I got yesterday. You stated earlier that there may be a vessel yesterday (Thursday) but I guess it is not true either. We now have to wait.... If only they send us a photo of our finished car to keep us happy while we wait :-)

Yup, my story did not change as per the automated message (which still says "In Transit", but cannot be tracked). The NYK ships leave every Thursday from Bremerhaven is what I found out, and I am also hearing quite a bit about cars being on the water (and in coupel cases actually delivered to the end user) while the tracking system still said "In Transit" Sounds like a joke to me, but at the same time, it somewhat boosts my hopes that my car could have been at sea for the last two weeks .
Still a joke though... Being able to track nearly every step in production up to it getting delivered to the port, and losing contact there is just poor planning in my opinion....
