Just arrived in the US
Well, looks like my car finally arrived in the US. Still needs to be prepped and sent to my dealer. Very excited and nervous. Ordered 2011 535xi Mojave Metallic with Cinn interior. Anthracite headliner, anthracite trim, sport package, premium package 1 and 2, paddle shifters and iPhone integration (hope it works with iPhone4).

Mine was built very similar to yours, except I chose the 550ix. When did you place your order?

Around September 1. Dealer was surprised it got in so quickly. Not sure how long it will sit in Baltimore. Been reading post on others having problems releasing for delivery to dealers. Not sure what the problem is.

Congrats on the new car. My 535xi arrived in Baltimore exactly 2 weeks ago and apparently is still there. Many rumours (everything from a missing part to drivers seat malfunctions to alignment issues) are circulating surrounding the hold up as it typically should only take a couple days to get from the VPC to the dealerships and I only live in DC so it's only 45 min away. Just wish we could get a definitive answer from BMW. The wait is KILLING me !

Hold Ups with 535xi
My 535xi is on the boat and should be arriving at the NJ port on Thurs 10/14.
Hope its not held up too long at the VPC for whatever the issue is with the 535xi's. I've been following the posts and it sounds like it could be any one or more of a number of issues including the Monroney stiker (EPA certification), alignment issues, seat(s), etc... I hope BMW figures it out soon and gets the cars released to the dealers. The wait is absolutely killing me too. Best wishes that everyone gets their cars soon. |

Just heard from my CA about the car delays. According to him a bushing or something was either not installed or not installed correctly at the factory and the repair is being done at the VPC. They have the parts to do the repair but there are apparently 1200 cars that require the part and it is not one those 1-2 minute fixes hence the big delay. God forbid if your car is #1200 in line to get the repair. I guess chalk it up to the risks you run for ordering within the 1st production run of a new car. In this case I truly hope the old adage good things come to those who wait applies.
