Comparison M3 vs. Corvette

M3 vs. Z06 corvette

Ok sorry if this is stupid, but I think they will be somewhere similarly priced (actually more like the C6 vs. M3) but still, Im sick over both these rides right now so any opinions on choosing one over the other............

I actually own a C6 right now and my bro owns an e46 m3

Let me try: SPeed/HP wise the corvette wins hands down no comparison here, the corvette just punishes the m3.

Handiling wise you would think the bimmer was better but i still think the c6 does its jov well

now as for the m3, its a whole lot more comfortable inside. idont mean its like a soft cadillac ride, i mean its just more user friendly and im able to settle down and cruise with it one minute then bust it open another minute. the vette just isnt like that at all. Even though the m3 is down on power vs. a corvette, i think the m3 is a much more usable car in real life. thats the reason im switiching to a bimmer next time around. after reading that there is going to be a v-8 in this new m3 well maybee it will still be a sweet ride but be able to go as fast as the c6 tooo

Sure the Corvette has the straight line performance kiling. But its stupid cause the point of a BMW M is to have a good mix of straight line performance, handling, braking, comfort, engineering and style, all in one bag. For example, the car can be a killer on the track, then get you home in comfort then can take you and your lady out to a very nice restaurant in style, without missing a beat. Thats what a corvette is not. If you just want pure speed you can do even better then a vette in terms of $$, look at an EVO or STI

vette is a better sports car, but the M3 is a more polished product

I hear that the vette's a bit sketchy to drive at the limit without traction control on, even good drivers have said they're more comfortable with traction control in competition mode.

get both cars to a racetrack and a good driver in a miata will ream them both

The C6s are brutal. Even the non-z06 is very fast.

C6 vs. M3

I agree with the above consensus that the M3 is just a more all-around, balanced car. The Vette is a performance bargain, but to live with over time not as gratifying, IMO.

Agreed that Chevy interior is still not up to snuff but if you're looking for a stoplight dragster look no further. The M3 will carry more, go damn fast, and looks beautifully elegant all while being pushed by its 400 horses
